Many high quality gig bags use loop style zippers. Like any machine, they need to be lubricated (I know this from a horrible experience when even the stage hands struggled desperately to get my bass out of the case-- a very expensive Reunion Blues leather gig bag). Any leather shop carries wax pens for zippers. The point is do something to keep your zippers zipping.
